Internal server error

I have run into this a couple of times. 


I go to login to Okta and after entering my email address it does not proceed to the Push notification, instead the page refreshes and there is a banner at the top that says, "Internal server error".


I tried:

  • Quitting and restarting the browser.
  • Emptying the cache.
  • Opening a new tab and a new browser window
  • Opening a Private window
    • This works
  • Logging in from another browser
    • This works
  • Logging in from another machine
    • This works


Obviously something is "stuck" and it does not want to proceed past the first step. I finally found a solution, but it is weird...


I cleared out my email address and typed in "alincoln@tammaninc.com" and clicked the button.


Instead of the "Internal server error" message it allowed me to proceed to the next screen. I clicked the "Login as another user" button and went back to the initial login window. I replaced Abe's email address with my email address and then I was able to login normally.
